  2. 02
Time the whole batchMixing, chilling, baking, decorating and bagging all count.
  3. 03
Add packaging, overhead and profitCookie bags, boxes and stickers add up fast on small orders.
  4. 04

Questions

How much should I charge per hour?

Start with what you’d want to earn at a job with similar skill. Many home bakers set a rate and raise it once orders are steady.

What counts as overhead?

Oven and fridge energy, water, pans and mixers wearing out, and small supplies you don’t track per recipe.

Why is my cookie price higher than the bakery down the street?

Shops buy in bulk and spread costs over many orders. Custom work is priced for your time, which is what customers are paying for.

Can I save my results?

Yes. A free BakerTab account saves up to 15 recipes and updates their cost when ingredient prices change.
